Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience
License: Active Minnesota RN license
Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage care for patients with complex needs.
- Deliver effective written and oral communications to engage and respond to questions and concerns.
- Delegate and supervise appropriately based on state practice act and understanding of responsibility, authority, and accountability.
- Perform age-related patient assessments and nursing interventions, including administering medications orally and intravenously.
- Manage short-term ventilator patients and provide step-down telemetry monitoring.
- Utilize equipment such as Phillips patient monitoring systems and EPIC computer documentation systems.
- Adhere to a schedule of 8 or 12-hour shifts and participate in weekend rotations.
Requirements:
- Willingness to float to ICU, Med-Surg, or Surgical Women's Center if needed.
- IV insertion experience (3-6 months).
- Basic EKG interpretation for identification of high-risk arrhythmias (6 months).
