Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular Clinic. This role is designed for those who are passionate about delivering high-quality care to cardiac patients in an outpatient environment.
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering professional nursing services that emphasize quality care for cardiac patients in an outpatient setting, adhering to the standards and values of CommonSpirit Health, as well as applicable regulatory requirements.
The role involves direct patient care, including assessment, coordination, triage, evaluation, and delegation of tasks to the healthcare team, along with providing specialized consultation and education to patients and their families regarding procedures and ongoing disease management.
Essential Duties:
- Administer cardiovascular and pharmacological stress tests, utilizing imaging modalities and IV therapy as necessary; interpret EKG results according to established protocols.
- Complete cardiac risk assessment forms in response to requests for cardiac clearance for clinical or diagnostic tests; submit assessments to the Cardiologist for final review.
- Review established protocols for each procedure and provide tailored training and information to patients based on their medical history and specific physician protocols.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for patients, performing nursing triage activities based on direct interactions or phone inquiries; independently triage cardiac patients in accordance with standing orders and protocols, addressing complex or urgent situations as needed.
- Document studies, procedures, and patient interactions in the electronic medical record, following established guidelines; enter, pend, and sign orders as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the state board and a minimum of two years of relevant experience demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills.
License/Certification:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the state board of nursing.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
