Job Summary

As a key member of our team at Synagro, you will be responsible for safely transporting materials from clients' locations to assigned destinations for processing or disposal. This role requires the ability to load and unload materials utilizing commercial trucks and/or heavy/agricultural equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete a daily truck log and submit reports of mileage covered at the end of the day.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador and interact with clients and the public in a professional manner.
  • Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the truck/equipment.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT), state, local, and in-house regulations, procedures, and rules.
  • Operate the truck/equipment in a safe manner at all times.
  • Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destinations.
  • Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site, with potential for overnight travel (more than 75% travel).
  • Clean bio-solids off the truck/equipment before leaving the field site or landfill.
  • Perform shop clean up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup.
Requirements
  • Ability to backup the truck/equipment.
  • Ability to memorize routes.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, overtime hours, and/or weekend duties.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to operate the truck/equipment in a safe manner.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) Class A with Tanker Endorsement preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years roll-off experience preferred.
  • Safe driving record: No serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years or DWI/DUI in the last 10 years.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Sitting, climbing, balancing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting 75 lbs., fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and visual.
  • The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather.
  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to bio-solids.
