Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist performs ultrasound examinations according to physicians' orders, utilizing a variety of sophisticated ultrasound equipment, taking into account individual patient's special or age-related needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts ultrasound examinations to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Assesses patient needs and takes necessary steps to ensure a comfortable and safe examination experience.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Education to meet certification, license, or registration requirements.
  • Board eligible for certification at the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Oregon Sonographer upon hire, or Oregon Sonographer Temporary upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • National Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
  • New graduates must be board-eligible and obtain certification (ARDMS) within 6 months of hire.
  • New graduates must have an OBMI temporary license and obtain a permanent license within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of Clinical experience in diagnostic ultrasound.
  • 2 years of OBGYN sonography experience.
