Job Overview

We are in search of a skilled Automotive Sales Consultant to facilitate the sale of both new and pre-owned vehicles while adhering to Lewis's standards for volume and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve and maintain a minimum sales target for vehicles each month.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales orders and manage paperwork in line with company policies.
  • Utilize dealership sales management and follow-up systems effectively.
  • Participate in product and sales training sessions as directed by the sales manager.
  • Stay informed about new products and services in the automotive industry.
  • Develop and maintain a customer follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Implement a prospect development strategy.
  • Conduct business with the utmost professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Greet and assist customers entering the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Guide customers in selecting vehicles by asking insightful questions and actively listening to their needs.
  • Thoroughly explain product performance, applications, and benefits to potential buyers.
  • Detail all optional equipment available for purchase.
  • Offer test drives to all interested customers, ensuring proper identification is obtained beforehand.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing retail automobile sales.
  • Set personal income goals aligned with dealership productivity standards and devise strategies to achieve them.
  • Keep abreast of new products, features, and accessories, along with their benefits to customers.
  • Explain vehicle equity and values, including depreciation, to customers.
  • Ensure the sales manager has the opportunity to meet each customer.
  • Submit all closed deals to the finance and insurance manager, along with properly completed documentation.
  • Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to their arrival.
  • Follow up on all post-delivery tasks, including tag/title work and special requests, to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Review and analyze daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly performance to optimize time management and planning.
  • Attend regular sales meetings.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Prior experience in automotive sales is not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Individuals with backgrounds in hospitality or the restaurant industry are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve results.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in building and maintaining a loyal client base is advantageous.
  • Awareness of current trends and a strong desire to learn and grow.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two to four years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
