Position Overview

The City of Boynton Beach is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Police Department as Law Enforcement Officers. Key Responsibilities

As a Law Enforcement Officer, your duties will include:

  • Investigating criminal activities and documenting incidents.
  • Providing medical assistance when necessary.
  • Utilizing technology for report writing and data management.

  • Enforcing local and state laws.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must:
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possess Florida Department of Law Enforcement Certification.
  • Be at least 19 years old.
  • Have a valid Florida driver's license or be eligible to obtain one.

Physical and Mental Fitness

All officers are expected to maintain their physical and mental well-being to effectively perform their duties. The role demands resilience and adaptability in various situations.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting annual salary for a Certified Law Enforcement Officer is $73,000. Additionally, newly hired certified officers may be eligible for a $5,000 incentive, distributed over the first year of employment. The City offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid leave.
