Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team in Austin, TX. As a Laborer, you will provide support and assistance to other skilled crafts working on the project. Your responsibilities will include preparing areas at jobsites, cleaning up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material, assisting welders, carpenters, painters, or other tradespeople onsite, and following instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks.

Essential Duties
  • Preparation of areas at jobsites
  • Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material
  • Assist welders, carpenters, painters, or other tradespeople onsite
  • Use power tools and machinery when needed
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks
  • Put up warning signs, cones, and etc for vehicles and passersby
  • Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures
  • Handling and transporting materials and/or personnel
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools
  • Distribute site materials to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications
  • Responsible for ensuring that all materials are properly distributed, and the site is swept and well maintained
  • Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program
  • Experience with a wide variety of construction machinery
  • Knowledge of maintenance of various construction equipment
  • Must be able to take initiative
  • Possess a keen attention to detail and be able to follow instructions
  • Workers must provide their own safety footwear
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and stakeholders
  • Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills
  • Must be reliable and punctual
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experienced in construction layout, blueprint reading, and shop drawing reading
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
