Position Overview: The Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, ensuring the efficient operation of anesthesia services in various clinical environments. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of anesthesia methodologies and sterile practices, as well as the organization and maintenance of anesthesia apparatus and supplies in accordance with departmental and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in aseptic techniques, ensuring the safe disposal of single-use items and the preparation of IV maintenance fluids.
  2. Assess the equipment requirements for patients transitioning from critical care to the operating room and assist in the setup of monitoring devices post-surgery.
  3. Guarantee the availability of essential anesthesia equipment, including emergency airway tools, and assist anesthesia providers during critical procedures.
  4. Participate in the setup of therapeutic pain management interventions and maintain cleanliness and organization of the anesthesia workspace.
  5. Conduct regular inventory checks of consumable supplies, ensuring that all anesthesia carts are adequately stocked and organized.
  6. Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Anesthesiology Technology or related field.
  • Current licensure in a relevant discipline.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support is required within the initial onboarding period.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in patient care or nursing assistance is preferred.

Physical Requirements: The role demands the ability to stand for extended periods, lift weights up to 40 pounds, and work in protective gear. Candidates must possess good visual and auditory acuity, along with manual dexterity.

Work Environment: The Anesthesia Technician will work in a dynamic clinical setting, requiring adaptability and a commitment to patient safety and care excellence.
