Position Title:Elementary Literacy Specialist
Role Overview:
As an Elementary Literacy Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing literacy skills among students. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering a love for reading and writing, guiding teachers, and supporting student achievement in literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with educators to develop and implement effective literacy programs.
- Provide professional development and coaching to teaching staff on best practices in literacy instruction.
- Assess student literacy levels and design interventions to support diverse learners.
- Engage with parents and the community to promote literacy initiatives.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience in an elementary setting.
Preferred:
- Experience in literacy coaching or instructional leadership.
- Master's Degree in Education or a related discipline.
Certifications:
Required:
- Reading Certification through K-12 Endorsement or equivalent.
- Valid State Driver's License.
Desired:
- Training in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
