Senior Level Diesel Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Level Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder in Lenexa, Kansas. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical and electronic repairs on heavy duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer systems
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
