Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and Inventory Management: Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer systems.
  • Stockroom Operations: Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
  • Inventory Verification: Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Storage and Organization: Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Labeling and Identification: Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
  • Quality Control: Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: 0-2 years experience required.
  • Physical Demands: This is a labor role (lifting boxes, moving trees) and will be labor intensive. Will be in a warehouse setting. Need to be able to lift up to 75 pounds (assisted if necessary). Will be standing for long periods of time so need to be comfortable standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Personal Qualities: Need to be okay with taking instruction. Possibly on a lift so candidates cannot be scared of heights. Needing people who are open to driving a box truck or van for a couple hours during the day if necessary.
