Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide high-quality care to our young residents aged 13-18 and non-minor dependents in our Short-Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP).

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide individualized medical assessments, prioritize data collection, and maintain compliance with MHPA standards. They will also provide education to staff, maintain confidentiality, and ensure HIPAA regulations are followed.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individualized medical assessments and prioritize data collection based on the resident's immediate condition or needs.
  • Maintain compliance with MHPA standards (45 days with meds, 90 days without meds) or medication reviews.
  • Provide treatment recommendations to doctors, psychiatrists, and the facility.
  • Provide education to mental health and residential staff as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure HIPAA regulations are followed.
  • Provide non-judgmental, non-discriminatory care that preserves autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Coordinate linkage to medication support services with the mental health treatment team.
  • Schedule and attend mandated medical, dental, and psychiatric appointments with clients.
  • Complete Medication Administrator Records for clients monthly or as medications change.
  • Order medication as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Complete documentation as outlined in policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure in good standing in the state of practice and all other states where the license is held.
  • Comfortable working with male youths ages 7-17 who are wards of the court and display assaultive and suicidal behaviors.
  • Evidence of BLS, AED, First Aid, and CPR Certification.
  • Must pass DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearance for California and all states occupied within the last five years.
Experience:
  • Experience working with adolescents from the age of 7-17 years old (preferred).
  • Familiar with childhood ailments including but not limited to childhood diabetes and obesity (preferred).
Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 20 hours a week (4 hours per day). Days and time to be determined by the employee and supervisor.
