Executive Chef Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Keystone Bar & Grill in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality food products are delivered to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Keystone kitchen, including administration of policies and guidelines of the company, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction at all times.
  • Ensure proper staffing by scheduling and coordinating the work of chefs, cooks, and other kitchen employees to ensure that food preparation is economical and technically correct to meet high standards of quality and within budgeted labor cost goals.
  • Ensure a high level of profitability through closely monitoring food, labor, and supply costs.
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and efficiency through volume for 100% customer satisfaction. Maintain fast, accurate service, and positive guest relations, while ensuring products are consistent with company quality standards.
  • Approve the requisition of products and other necessary food supplies.
  • Collaborate with all front-of-house and back-of-house management, and ownership, to ensure that food production consistently exceeds the expectations of guests.
  • Evaluate food products and collaborate with food supply partners to ensure that quality standards are consistently attained through the acquisition of the highest quality ingredients and products with a focus on local and family-owned businesses.
  • Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all times. Ensure company safety and security policies, Occupational Safety Health Act, and local health and safety codes are met, in partnership and cooperation with inspectors. Follow and maintain a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment.
  • Safeguard all food preparation employees by implementing training to increase their knowledge about safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles. Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
  • Ensure that representatives from the kitchen attend service lineups and meetings.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff.

Requirements:

  • Degree in culinary arts preferred, but not required.
  • At least 5 years of experience, including Sous chef level or higher in a high-volume, scratch cooking kitchen.
  • ServSafe Certification.
  • Systems-oriented.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Hospitality focus with customer-first attitude; team coach with emphasis on culture leadership and commitment to company standards of excellence.
  • Effective communication and coaching skills to develop and motivate staff.
  • Knowledge of proper knife techniques.
  • Work well under pressure and maintain fast, accurate service.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience managing menu costs and labor.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, basic computer skills, and knowledge of, or ability to learn, the latest computer technology and working connection with all of the company's programs and systems (Apple Computer preferred). Compliance with company technology requirements is a must.
