Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Staff Coordinator to join our team at DCH Health System. As a Medical Staff Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the Medical Staff Office and Director, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical staff functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and publish emergency call schedules monthly and update as needed.
  • Process pre-applications, run primary source verifications, and collect necessary information for applications.
  • Coordinate annual competency assessments for Licensed Independent Practitioner Employees.
  • Manage data entry, scanning, and filing duties.
  • Assist in preparing packets for Allied Health Committee and Professional Activity Committee.
  • Accumulate and prepare materials for Family Medicine Department Meeting and Medical Staff key committees.
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations for monthly and quarterly meetings.
  • Attend meetings, coordinate scheduling, and manage office correspondence.
  • Maintain databases, assign parking hangtags, and process observation applications.
  • Follow up on delinquencies, send information to Medical Staff, and coordinate office mail.
  • Manage flu vaccine documentation, prepare patient satisfaction letters, and order office supplies.
  • Off-board credentialed staff, run queries from the Office of Inspector General, and report findings to the Director.
  • Publish hand hygiene tracer information and create orientation packets.
  • Facilitate agenda preparation, send invoices, and request badges and computer access for new providers.
  • Communicate with Department Chairs and providers, assist in scheduling Doctor's Day, and provide office support for the Director.
  • Generate and maintain slides for MD TV and maintain information in the Rolodex.
  • Maintain current expirables, take meeting minutes, and add/delete/update provider emails.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years previous medical staff office experience preferred.
  • Computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Ability to handle confidential material.
  • Minimum typing speed 45 words per minute.
  • Valid Alabama driver's license and current automobile liability insurance.
  • CPCS certification required within 5 years of employment.
