Permit Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Permit Technician to join our Community Development team at Coconino County, AZ. As a Permit Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our building permit process.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process building permit applications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to applicants, architects, designers, engineers, builders, and homeowners.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve permit-related issues and ensure timely issuance of permits.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- An Associate's degree in a related field and two years of administrative experience in construction, real estate, or a building department setting.
- Or, three years of technical or administrative experience in a construction, real estate, or building department setting.
- Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- ICC Permit Technician Certification within one year of employment.
- IRC certification.
- Experience as a Permit Technician and customer service/counter experience.
