Job Summary:

The Cardiac Echo Sonographer is a vital member of the Rutland Regional Medical Center team, responsible for utilizing high-frequency sound waves and diagnostic techniques to aid in medical diagnosis. This role requires the ability to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data, which are then used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision, the Cardiac Sonographer must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care, including the injection of contrast media where applicable and the implementation of life-saving measures.
  • Must be able to recognize abnormal structures and correlate this information into a useful study.
  • Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary and develop new techniques as needed.
  • Utilize ancillary devices, such as selected transducers, to aid in diagnostic imaging.
  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills are required.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited educational program for Diagnostic Sonography or equivalent.
  • Prior experience is preferred.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association is required.
  • Registry preferred, or Registry eligible within 1 year of hire.

Pay and Benefits:

The Cardiac Echo Sonographer will be compensated with a competitive salary of $49.27 per hour. A sign-on bonus is negotiable.
