Nuclear Reactor Systems Engineer Role
The US Navy is seeking a skilled Nuclear Reactor Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, D.C. This position comes with a competitive salary of $160,000 per year, along with benefits such as free health insurance, housing, and 30 days paid vacation annually.

Job Overview:
As a Nuclear Reactor Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the research, design, maintenance, operation, and regulation of nuclear reactors and power plants for the Navy's advanced fleet of submarines and aircraft carriers.

Responsibilities:
  • System design and integration (reactor and fluid systems)
  • Implementation of reactor physics and materials analysis
  • Component design and testing (steam generators, pumps, valves)
  • Instrumentation and control system implementation
  • Quality control and assurance


Work Setting:
You will work in state-of-the-art facilities, including two DOE laboratories, two nuclear prototype/training sites, nearly 100 nuclear-powered ships, and over 1,000 supporting firms.

Eligibility:
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Graduate or student pursuing a B.A., B.S., or M.S. in mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry, or technical areas
  • Completed one year of calculus and one year of calculus-based physics
  • Competitive GPA and "B" in technical courses
