Position: Culinary Steward

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Exhibiting meticulous attention to detail by thoroughly cleaning dishware, cookware, utensils, and more, including the careful polishing of stainless steel and silverware. You will efficiently hand wash and operate dishwashing machines while keeping your workspace organized.
  • Recognizing the significance of cleanliness and sanitation, ensuring that all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and areas—including ovens, floors, walls, walk-ins, and vents—are maintained to the highest standards. You may also participate in deep cleaning initiatives to uphold exceptional hygiene.
  • Acting as a diligent Safety & Security Agent, adhering to the safety and security protocols of the establishment, as well as following OSHA guidelines. You will promptly report any concerns to the appropriate departments to maintain a secure working environment.

Compensation:

$16.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils to uphold a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Assist with the receiving and storage of food and supplies to ensure effective inventory management.
  • Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
  • Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to prevent contamination and maintain quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to contribute to efficient kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
  • Weekend availability is essential.
  • Previous experience in a hotel and dishwashing role is preferred.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • This position requires medium work—exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods without sitting or leaning, and to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body and arms. Must be able to work under varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range. Must be able to respond quickly in situations requiring immediate assistance and work long hours as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task and possess communication skills to convey and understand information effectively.
