Job Summary

The Housekeeping Assistant position at Cantex Continuing Care Network is responsible for performing scheduled housekeeping tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas on a daily basis, utilizing proper chemicals and equipment. The successful candidate will have experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance, and be able to read, write, and speak the English language.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas on a daily basis
  • Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment to clean floors, windows, and other surfaces
  • Empties trash containers and disposes of trash in proper receptacles
  • Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor
  • Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate
  • Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor
  • Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules
Requirements
  • Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
