Job Summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce high-quality images for subsequent interpretation by nuclear physicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality dynamic, static, and gated SPECT and PET imaging procedures utilizing appropriate age-specific standards to obtain the desired diagnostic patient information for the referring physician.
  • Operate a variety of SPECT and PET/CT cameras and computers in accordance with prescribed departmental procedures to produce images of high diagnostic quality as observed by the nuclear physician or supervisor.
  • Properly record all duties according to departmental policy.
  • Perform Quality Control procedures according to departmental protocol to obtain the desired result or information needed.
  • Ensure optimal performance of gamma cameras, computers, and other related auxiliary equipment.
  • Practice safe handling of radioactive materials according to departmental and federal regulations to ensure minimal radiation exposure to self and others.
  • Demonstrate commitment to coworkers, department, and hospital through general standards of professional conduct to facilitate the efficient and smooth operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an A.M.A. approved program in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry-level standards of routine Nuclear Medicine imaging.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology required.
  • Basic knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear medicine equipment, and nuclear medicine imaging procedures.
  • Above-average knowledge of anatomy, computer/Pacs applications, and good organizational and communication/customer service skills.

Additional Information

New grads welcome. Must be NMTCB or ARRT (N) certified, work in a team environment, excellent customer/patient satisfaction skills, On Call rotation on weekends and able to lift 45 lbs.
