Emergency Services Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Services Instructor to join our team at the County of Chester. As an Emergency Services Instructor, you will be responsible for providing safe, up-to-date, and productive instruction to emergency responders through courses provided by the Department of Emergency Services in law enforcement and related topics.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement and emergency services, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality training programs. You will be responsible for developing and delivering training courses, evaluating student performance, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver training courses to emergency responders on law enforcement and related topics
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to students
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and training completion
- Collaborate with other instructors and department staff to develop and implement training programs
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in law enforcement and emergency services
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- At least 100 hours of certified emergency training required
- Valid driver's license required
- 3+ years of experience in law enforcement or emergency services required
- Pennsylvania State Police Firearms Instructor certification or National Rifle Association Firearms Instructor Certification preferred
- 4+ years of experience in law enforcement or emergency services
- Technical law enforcement knowledge and experience
- Technical handgun and weapons and weapons systems knowledge
- Proficiency in weapons usage
- Ability to carry tasks to completion
- Strong time management skills
- Easily adapts to changes in the work environment
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems
The Emergency Services Instructor will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and multiple tasks. The position requires the ability to work in all types of weather conditions and to perform duties in emergency environments. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with students, employees, and the public.
Physical DemandsThe Emergency Services Instructor will be required to stand for extended periods, walk, reach, bend, and lift moderately heavy objects. The position requires the ability to operate a computer and office equipment, and to perform duties in a classroom setting.
