Position Overview:

We are in search of a qualified and organized educator specializing in Civics, ESOL, and adult education. Candidates should possess experience in both traditional and virtual teaching environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and deliver English instruction that aligns with Massachusetts state and federal educational standards (MA ELPS) within the adult learning framework.
  • Create and execute lesson plans that incorporate diverse teaching methodologies to cater to various learning preferences.
  • Facilitate comprehensive communication skills development, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening in relevant contexts.
  • Maintain thorough and precise documentation of student progress and achievements.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different student interests and abilities.

  • Engage in regular staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant educational field.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in adult education and classroom management.
  • Proficiency in online teaching and classroom management.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate modern technology into both in-person and online educational settings.
  • Native English speaker.
  • TESOL certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including underserved communities, and to promote an inclusive environment for all students.
Additional Information:

Supervisory Role: This is an independent contractor position with no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel Requirements: Some travel may be necessary.

Work Environment: This role is situated in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
