About the RoleThe Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy treatments to patients. This includes providing treatments according to treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist, assisting with tests and evaluations, and maintaining daily records of treatments.
Responsibilities- Provide physical therapy treatments to patients according to treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist the Physical Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
- Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on patients.
- Assist the Physical Therapist with consulting with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with the care of the Physical Therapy department and equipment.
- Participate in in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the Physical Therapist.
- Stay up-to-date with continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
- Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the state of practice.
- Prefer minimum one (1) year rehabilitation experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility.
- Prefer active membership in the state and national American Physical Therapy Association.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.
