Position Overview:

The Food Runner plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to both internal staff and external patrons. Working under general supervision, this position assists both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams with various tasks, including those outlined below and any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with guests proactively, providing product information, answering inquiries, and fostering positive relationships.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of table assignments, operational hours, proper table arrangements, and the restaurant's dress code.
  • Ensure that dining and expo line areas are organized and adhere to established standards.
  • Communicate effectively with management, chefs, and culinary staff to address guest requests and resolve any issues.
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the designated tables, bar seats, and guests efficiently.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding alcohol service, including restrictions on serving minors and intoxicated individuals.
  • Accurately report tips at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Clear, clean, stock, and set up cold stations on the server expo line according to restaurant standards.
  • Discreetly remove individual settings from guest tables as courses are completed.
  • Provide additional utensils, settings, and condiments as requested by guests.
  • Utilize and maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary and safe manner.
  • Exhibit a well-groomed and professional appearance at all times.
  • Demonstrate resilience when interacting with challenging guests and work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent adherence to company and departmental standards.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment.

These skills and competencies are typically acquired through a minimum of two months of on-the-job training or relevant experience related to the responsibilities outlined.
