Job OverviewThis is a fantastic opportunity for Registered Nurses (RNs) with 1-2 years of recent acute care experience to work as Medical Surgical Travel Nurses in Atlanta, GA. As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
- Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
- Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
- Provide high-quality care for a range of patients, from those requiring routine care to those with complex medical conditions.
- Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs as needed.
- Assist physicians during examinations and treatments, preparing equipment and providing necessary support.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures and recovery processes.
- Participate in discharge planning and develop patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty, and lift up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients.
Requirements- BLS certification
- 2 years of recent acute care experience
