The role of an Aircraft Service Associate (ASA) encompasses a customer-focused position that entails various responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safe delivery of requested services for general aviation aircraft, their crews, and passengers. An ASA routinely operates ground support equipment and applies knowledge of company policies and procedures to deliver efficient and outstanding service to clients and visitors at the fixed base operation (FBO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team to provide safe and efficient aircraft services while fostering a welcoming environment for customers and guests.
  • Engage in close cooperation with coworkers, clients, vendors, and aircraft crews to meet customer service expectations, ensuring clear and effective communication through various channels to fulfill operational tasks.
  • Execute aircraft servicing as directed by management or clients, including fueling, de-icing, lavatory services, ground power, potable water services, parking, marshalling, catering delivery, and towing.
  • Operate and maneuver ground service vehicles such as fuel trucks, de-icing units, ground power units, tugs, and stair trucks.
  • Promote and deliver general aviation services to crew members, clients, and other visitors.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure ramp environment and operational areas.
  • Transport passengers and/or cargo using shuttle vehicles.
  • Handle luggage and cargo loading and unloading between aircraft and the FBO or other designated locations.
  • Manage fuel handling processes, including quality control, fuel receipt, inventory management, and accurate documentation.
  • Provide exemplary customer service while maintaining a positive and helpful demeanor towards all individuals at all times.
  • Adhere to and enforce all operational, safety, and customer service protocols relevant to the position.
  • Comply with and enforce all security protocols as mandated by Signature and the airport.
  • Document time worked and services rendered accurately.
  • Follow emergency response procedures in the event of critical incidents.
  • Propose enhancements to Signature's standards, administrative practices, facilities, methods, and operations to management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical and Operational Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform tasks in various weather conditions, including precipitation, extreme temperatures, and exposure to jet engine fumes, dust, and noise. Duties will be conducted both indoors and outdoors, in proximity to stationary and moving aircraft.

  • Conduct flight line operations safely and accurately in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance for all scheduled shifts, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This is a physically demanding role, requiring extensive standing, walking, lifting, carrying, stretching, pushing, pulling, bending, crawling, climbing, and twisting.
  • Possess excellent vision and coordination for directing aircraft and inspecting fuel quality.
  • Communicate clearly in English with others in person, via telephone, and in writing for safety and operational purposes.
  • Operate motor vehicles and ground support equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform various functions from elevated heights as required.
  • Understand and adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, following directions and instructions promptly.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Handle high-pressure situations and high-profile clients with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
  • Independently prepare for arriving and departing aircraft and proactively address safety concerns.
Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • A valid state driver's license; a commercial driver's license (CDL) may be required based on local regulations.
  • The ability to pass background checks, drug tests, and obtain an airport security badge.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country of employment.
  • Successful completion of Signature's training programs.
  • Ability to pass a color vision test for fuel inspection purposes.
  • Proficiency in using computers and email, including completing online training modules.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Preferred: 3 to 6 months of experience in aviation, customer service, or a related field.
