Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Professional Nursing Care: Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Assist Surgeons and Anesthesiologists: Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless execution of procedures, including preparing patients, operating equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Manage Operating Room Operations: Oversee the setup and maintenance of operating rooms, including inventory management, equipment preparation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain open communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure informed decision-making and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Current RN licensure in the state of Michigan and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire.
  • Education and Experience: Diploma or associate's degree in nursing from an accredited institution and at least one year of experience in a surgical or endoscopy setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Endoscopy Experience: Previous experience in endoscopy or gastroenterology nursing is highly desirable.
  • Pre-op or Recovery Room Experience: Experience in pre-operative or recovery room settings is preferred.
  • Critical Care Experience: Critical care experience is also preferred.
