Residential Training Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Trainer to join our team at Texana Center. As a Residential Trainer, you will work directly with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and problem behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement behavior analysis programs and special treatment sessions as directed.
  • Provide frequent positive interactions with individuals and conduct social skills educational, recreational, and vocational training.
  • Supervise and ensure a safe and pleasant environment for the individuals.
  • Meet specialized needs and assist in transitioning persons served to discharge placements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities who display aggressive and self-injurious behaviors.
  • Ability to work patiently and effectively with persons who exhibit challenging behaviors.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform SAMA and CPR.
  • Must be able to perform light pushing, stooping, light carrying, repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, and sitting.
