OB Technician

Job Summary

As an OB Technician with Catholic Health Initiatives, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our obstetrical department. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work closely with our nursing team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the nursing care of obstetrical patients under the direction of a registered nurse
Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties, including setting up tables, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures
Maintain sterile technique while assisting in draping patients in the operative area
Prepare, pass, and maintain a correct count of instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies
Respond to patient calls, anticipate patient needs, and ensure patient safety and comfort through regular rounds and environmental maintenance
Record vital signs and intake and output when requested into the patient record and/or computer
Perform nursing procedures that do not require the skill/knowledge or judgment of a licensed professional, such as patient baths, bed making, and ambulating patients

Requirements

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or completion of on-the-job training as a scrub tech with a minimum of 5 years' experience
BLS certification required upon hire
