Job Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor is a key member of the Select Medical team, responsible for overseeing accounting activities for a group of assigned hospitals in the Critical Illness Recovery Hospital Division. This role involves supervising accounting staff to ensure that accounting and internal control objectives are met, resulting in high-quality financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Direct Accounting Staff: Provide guidance and oversight to assigned accounting staff to ensure they meet their responsibilities and objectives.
- Collaborate with Accounting Leadership: Work closely with accounting leadership and assigned staff to complete the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Promote Best Practices: Identify and implement best practices and continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls to enhance financial reporting and compliance.
- Support Accounting Manager: Provide accurate and timely information to the Accounting Manager to support decision-making and financial planning.
- Audit Readiness: Promote audit readiness and assist with the completion of internal and external auditor activities to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Accounting Integration: Assist with accounting integration for acquired businesses to ensure seamless financial reporting and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting: A degree in accounting is required for this role.
- Minimum of Five Years of Accounting Experience: A minimum of five years of applicable accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare industry accounting environment, is required.
- US GAAP Principles: Working knowledge of US GAAP principles is essential for this role.
- Microsoft Office Productivity Suite: Expertise with the Microsoft Office productivity suite is required.
- Oracle, OneStream, and MedHost Experience: Experience with Oracle, OneStream, and MedHost is desirable.
- Healthcare Industry Accounting Experience: Healthcare industry accounting experience is a plus.
