Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, adhering to radiation protection principles, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, including X-rays and other imaging modalities
  • Adhere to radiation protection principles, local, state, and federal standards
  • Identify patients and exams, and perform diagnostic radiographic services with maximum care and technical quality
  • Responsible for successful technical continuity of care and education of radiological procedures to patients
  • Assist in gathering and recording data for Radiology Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement program
  • Assume responsibility for assigned area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are readily available
  • Maintain responsibility for own professional development through active participation in inservices and/or continuing education programs
  • Provide educational information to patients regarding their examination
  • Knowledgeable regarding patient condition, history, and appropriate background information pertinent to proposed examination
  • Accountable for quality of digital images sent to PACS, verifying correct patient selection and accuracy of Medical Record information
  • Responsible for the success of the department to achieve hospital designated Press Ganey mean score
  • Assist with secretarial and file room duties, maintaining accurate patient records, and assist in other areas as needed
  • Assist in lifting and transporting patients when necessary, and care for patient's needs while in the department
  • Stocks and supplies inventory of Radiology Rooms, and completes Event Reports and/or notifies Patient Safety Hotline according to hospital guidelines
  • Order entry of patient exams, and notifies RN of any patient problem or reaction
  • Perform medical assistant duties at Urgent Care sites as needed, and other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT registered, or ARRT registry eligible
  • Must pass registry within 1 year of hire date
  • NJ staff must have current New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License (with NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection) and must be registered before date of hire
