Atrium Health Radiology invites applications for a Medical Imaging Associate Professional to join our team. As an integral part of our radiology department, this role plays a crucial role in facilitating patient care and treatment.

Job Summary

The Medical Imaging Associate Professional performs various patient care duties and other professional activities under the supervision of a radiology technologist. Responsibilities include monitoring the flow of patient activities, preparing patients for exams, and ensuring patient safety. This position also involves assisting licensed practitioners with medication administration, contrast media preparation, and diagnostic exam procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
  • Assists patients with questions about procedures and prepares them for exams, ensuring patient safety.
  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner or registered nurse.
  • Assists physicians and technologists in performing diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits.
  • Supports administrative tasks, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Physical Requirements

This role requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. The incumbent may be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day, including radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

A high school diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field is required. Clinical experience and medical clerical skills are preferred.

Atrium Health offers a competitive salary range for this position: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.
