Position Overview:
The Technician role can be either full-time or part-time and is compensated hourly based on business requirements.

The primary duties of the Technician include conducting essential vehicle diagnostics and executing routine repair and maintenance services in alignment with company standards and manufacturer specifications.

This position is designed to provide outstanding 5 Star service to our customers through effective communication regarding vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while consistently meeting customer expectations for both timeliness and quality.


Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to accurately identify necessary repairs.

- Consistently perform Monro's Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle, documenting and communicating any additional required services and repairs; review courtesy inspections completed by General Service Technicians.

- Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts, as well as unloading and stocking supplies.

- Support all general store operations, ensuring the facility is maintained to Monro's cleanliness standards and is consistently guest-ready.

- Adhere to Monro's safety protocols while performing services, including but not limited to Monro's Wheel Torque, Oil safety, and compliance procedures.

- Test drive vehicles following Monro's Road Test policy, utilizing designated test drive routes while adhering to local traffic and safety regulations.

- Understand and comply with company policies and procedures, as well as governmental standards including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA regulations. Maintain consistent use of all required safety standards as outlined in training and policies.

- Keep technical knowledge and skills up to date by completing all required Monro University training courses and modules in a timely manner.

- Operate and maintain all equipment safely in accordance with Monro and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.

- Perform additional duties as assigned and required.

Candidate Profile:
- Capable of executing basic automotive maintenance, repair, and tire services.
- Ability to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and determine suitable repair solutions.
- Competence in interpreting and executing instructions provided in written, oral, and diagram formats.
- Strong customer service abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to explain technical matters and produce routine reports.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position operates within an automotive shop environment, which may involve exposure to moderate noise levels, adverse weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust.

Technicians must be capable of:

- Working flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Lifting, carrying, and stocking merchandise and supplies up to 75 lbs. without assistance.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequently reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- ASE certification and State Inspection license (where applicable) preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.
