Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist Opportunity with Norton Heart and Vascular Institute

Norton Medical Group, a leading healthcare provider in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking a fellowship-trained or fellowship-eligible advanced heart failure cardiologist to join its expanding program. The ideal candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes experienced heart failure cardiologists, advanced practice providers, and dedicated support staff.
The team's collaborative approach focuses on patient-centered care for heart failure patients, with a common goal of creating the best experience possible for patients, staff, and the community.
About the PositionThe ideal candidate will have expertise in advanced heart failure therapies, including:
- Management of patients with heart failure with preserved systolic function and heart failure with reduced systolic function
- Ability to risk-stratify patients who need disease management, guideline-directed medical therapy, or referral for advanced surgical options, including LVAD or heart transplantation
- Knowledge of device management, including implantable cardiac defibrillator and cardiac resynchronization therapy
- Experience with heart failure monitoring tools, including the CardioMEMS HF system, ReDS system vest, and LifeVest
- Ability to perform right heart catheterizations and endomyocardial biopsies
- Interest in temporary and permanent mechanical circulatory support, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
- Collaboration with hospital and communitywide initiatives around re-admission reduction and postacute care for heart failure patients
- Support and management of VAD implant patients and heart transplant patients with pre- and post-transplant follow-up
- Collaboration with Norton Children's Heart Institute to provide total congenital heart disease and mechanical circulatory support
- Participation in heart failure and transplant national research studies, including support for investigator-initiated projects
