We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse to join our team at the Indian Health Service. As a Nurse in our Intensive Care Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing duties according to established principles, practices, and procedures in an ICU setting.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, utilizing knowledge of electrophysiology, fluid and electrolyte balance, and invasive monitoring systems.
- Independently provide care to patients, including pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, and operate specialized equipment such as resuscitators and cardiac monitoring systems.
- Recognize and respond to serious situations, initiating appropriate measures and documenting observations and interventions.
- Provide guidance and leadership to other nursing personnel, and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- A graduate or higher level degree in professional nursing from an accredited program.
- A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- At least one full year of professional nursing experience in the Federal service, performing duties such as those described above.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to high-stress situations. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
