About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Precision Grinding Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for operating and maintaining our precision grinding equipment and ensuring high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain precision grinding equipment to grind metal parts to precise specifications.
  • Ensure grinding wheels are dressed according to specifications, maintaining peak machine performance.
  • Provide quality control by inspecting parts and removing defective pieces.
  • Inspect machinery and parts to ensure compliance with specifications, reducing malfunctions and associated production loss.
  • Finish products by hand using hand tools to ensure high-quality surfaces.
  • Maintain equipment by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, and scheduling repairs when needed.
  • Raise quality issues to management if quality is compromised.
  • Ability to understand print notes, apply notes and dimensions to part formation.
  • Follow instructions for scanning jobs in and out correctly, logging and identifying parts before leaving the area.
  • Check end products to ensure they meet customer specifications and SPM quality standards.
  • Follow all SPM safety procedures associated with operating machinery, plant requirements, and other safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 yrs of Grind experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Demonstrated competency in basic math.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or push up to 50lbs.

Estimated Salary: $48,000 - $65,000 per year
