We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Summit Health Inc. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality ultrasound imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform ultrasound procedures to obtain diagnostic images of various body parts, including the abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology, breast, musculoskeletal, and vascular systems.
- Prepare and assist patients for ultrasound procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to acquire high-quality images, maintaining a daily log of patients seen and monitoring patient reactions to treatment.
- Provide patient care with dignity and respect, educating patients about procedures and protocols.
- Practice sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination, adhering to safety procedures and universal precautions.
- Perform quality control checks on equipment, reporting deficiencies to proper personnel for action.
- Process studies onto CD or film format for patient study requests, maintaining HIPAA compliance and cleanliness of equipment and working area.
- Maintain familiarity with emergency drugs and equipment locations, as well as departmental booking, scheduling, duplication, and PACS systems.
- Stay up-to-date with continuing education requirements, professional licenses, and certifications, including ARDMS and New York State Department of Health requirements.
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
- Active certifications by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or (CCI) in the specialties of Abdomen, OBGYN, Breast, MSK, Fetal Echo, Adult Echo, Vascular, and Pediatric.
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
- Excellent patient and people skills, with the ability to maintain a great knowledge in human cross-section anatomy, proper positioning skills, and appropriate utilization of protocols and scanning techniques.
- High knowledge with variety of routine procedures and applications.
- A competitive hourly rate of $38-$50 per hour.
