Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Optum, a leading health services company. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the dispensing of medical prescriptions and performing various clerical duties under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Prescription Filling: Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist.
  • Inventory Management: Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies, and verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with strong professional verbal and written communication skills, working collaboratively with the Pharmacist and other team members.
  • Compliance: Work with the Pharmacist to ensure compliance with all federal and state requirements, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Active License: Possess an active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Reliable Transportation: Have access to reliable transportation to ensure timely attendance and performance of duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification: Hold a National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Experience: Possess experience in pharmacy and prescription data entry, as well as bilingual skills in Spanish and English.
  • Immunization Certification: Be immunization certified.
