Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dialysis Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support to patients undergoing dialysis treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and support to patients undergoing dialysis treatment
- Administer and monitor dialysis treatments in accordance with current treatment plans or as directed by supervisors
- Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on dialysis flow sheets
- Assist in developing and following the teaching plan to educate patients and families regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
- Participate in staff meetings and assist in short-term and long-term patient care plan meetings
- Acquire knowledge and skills in current practice related to dialysis principles and technique by participating in scheduled in-service classes
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
- Current appropriate State licensure
- One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
- Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required
- ICU experience preferred but not required
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
- Successfully complete CPR Certification
- Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short-staffing or as required
