Job Summary:

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dialysis Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support to patients undergoing dialysis treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and support to patients undergoing dialysis treatment
  • Administer and monitor dialysis treatments in accordance with current treatment plans or as directed by supervisors
  • Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on dialysis flow sheets
  • Assist in developing and following the teaching plan to educate patients and families regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
  • Participate in staff meetings and assist in short-term and long-term patient care plan meetings
  • Acquire knowledge and skills in current practice related to dialysis principles and technique by participating in scheduled in-service classes

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
  • Current appropriate State licensure
  • One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required
  • ICU experience preferred but not required
  • Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
  • Successfully complete CPR Certification
  • Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short-staffing or as required
