Job Title: Infant Lead Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Infant Lead Teacher to join our team at Newtown Discovery Preschool. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our youngest learners.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement activities and curriculum that support and develop self-esteem and social skills in infants and toddlers.
  • Communicate professionally with fellow staff and parents to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Assist children with meal times and clean-up, maintaining a safe and clean environment at all times.
  • Develop, plan, and prepare instructional aids and materials for classroom activities.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, and other meetings as required.
Requirements:
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential required.
  • Two years of documented prior childcare or teaching experience required.
  • Willingness and ability to complete all clearances required by governing agencies.
  • Friendly, welcoming, and outgoing personality required.
  • Upbeat, positive, and optimistic attitude required.
  • Effective verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment with general supervision.
  • Patient, courteous listener with the ability to show empathy required.
  • Ability to interact professionally with multiple levels of personnel within the organization internally and externally.
Physical Demands:
  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk frequently during the day.
  • May stand four to eight hours per day.
  • May need to lift up to twenty-five pounds on occasion or more depending on child's weight.
  • Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.
