Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and implement measurement systems for ongoing and future engine development initiatives.
  2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify issues with measurement instruments, including emissions devices, instrumentation, noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis, combustion evaluation, and other testing apparatus.
  3. Recommend and execute enhancements to measurement technology to comply with regulatory standards and boost testing efficiency.
  4. Evaluate test outcomes to confirm equipment performance and adherence to regulatory and internal specifications.
  5. Oversee calibration, quality assurance, and compliance activities for measurement devices, ensuring thorough documentation and tracking.
  6. Foster a collaborative network with relevant departments across various Rolls-Royce testing facilities, suppliers, and research institutions.
  7. Support other divisions such as engineering, production, and quality assurance.
  8. Plan, execute, and assess vibrational testing on prototype engines.
  9. Manage and report on project timelines, budgets, and progress.
  10. Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  11. Document work hours for financial tracking and auditing.
  12. Promote a culture of compliance within R&D, adhering to the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
  13. Engage in special projects as needed.
Work Environment:

Qualifications:

Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering with 3 years of experience in measurement or emissions engineering related to internal combustion engines; or 7 years of relevant experience.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of emission measurement technologies.
  3. Proficient in NVH measurement methodologies.
  4. Solid grasp of internal combustion engine principles.
  5. Exceptional organizational skills with a proactive approach to managing multiple projects.
  6. Strong analytical capabilities, particularly in complex problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  9. Good presentation abilities.
  10. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  11. Proficient in PC and MS Office Suite.
Preferred:
  1. Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
  2. Experience with various engine emissions measurement tools and technologies.
  3. Proficiency in the German language.
