Job Description

Tiger Analytics is a leading analytics consulting firm that enables Fortune 100 companies to generate business value from data. Our consultants bring deep expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI.

The Data Steward will oversee data governance, quality, and integrity within the organization. This role involves working closely with data owners, business units, and IT teams to ensure data is properly managed, classified, and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Governance and Stewardship:

  • Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain data stewardship roles and responsibilities within business units and functional areas.
  • Define data standards, policies, and processes for managing data assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Data Quality and Integrity:

  • Oversee data quality initiatives to ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of key data sets.
  • Monitor and track data quality metrics, and work with teams to resolve data quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata repositories to ensure transparency and standardization of key data definitions.

Data Lifecycle Management:

  • Manage the lifecycle of critical data elements, including data acquisition, storage, usage, and retirement.
  • Ensure data security and privacy practices are embedded in the management of data assets, aligning with company and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in creating data governance policies and procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing data governance frameworks and leading data quality initiatives.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or any other programming language.
  • Experience with Databricks or any other cloud data management platform.
  • Experience in Data Dictionary development, Technical and business data cataloging.
  • Experience in drafting and managing data policies, business data processes, and business glossaries.
  • Design logical data model and orchestration requirements, manage logical data model for the Enterprise Analytics team in tandem with ingestion and curation leads.
  • Experience in developing complex performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Experience with various data governance tools such as Collibra, Master Data Management (MDM), Informatica.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into data governance solutions.
