About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Technician I to join our team at the Caswell Developmental Center. As a member of our team, you will provide direct care to developmentally disabled individuals, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Assure the physical and emotional well-being of assigned individuals
  • Implement clients' habilitation and training skills
  • Assist with personal care, home living, socialization, leisure, and safety of individual
  • Teach daily living and other skills
  • Transportation of clients to activities, classes, and appointments
  • Shopping with and for individuals
  • Assistance in providing emergency treatment for seizures or accidents, etc.
  • Record keeping and documentation
Requirements
  • High school or General Educational Development diploma
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, staff, and others
  • Ability to maintain a professional and even-tempered demeanor and work relationships
  • Ability to learn behavior management and supportive counseling techniques

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements. A newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus.
