Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum that aligns with the YMCA's educational standards and promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of our children.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a well-organized and safe classroom environment that encourages active learning and promotes positive behavior.
  • Parent Communication: Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement engaging programs that meet the needs of our children and families.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress, attendance, and program activities.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: At least 6 months to one year of experience in a preschool teaching role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds; ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activity for extended periods.
