The Team Lead plays a vital role in the success of our stores, working closely with Department Managers and Store Managers to receive, price, and stock merchandise to meet customer needs and drive sales and profits. This key position assists Team Members with completing tasks and ensures all team members receive the necessary training and education, including ongoing compliance training. As a leader on duty, the Team Lead responds to customer and team member concerns, opens and closes the store, and ensures the safety and security of all bookstore property and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Department Managers and Store Managers to achieve sales and profit goals
  • Assist Team Members with completing tasks and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Ensure all team members receive the necessary training and education, including ongoing compliance training
  • Act as leader on duty, responding to customer and team member concerns
  • Open and close the store, ensuring all bookstore property and team members are safe and secure

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Associates Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Able to consistently walk and stand, lift 25-50 pounds, and move merchandise using proper equipment
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to create and save text documents and send emails
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Compensation

Hourly rates vary by location:

  • New York City: $15.75-$20.33/hr
  • State of California: $15.75-$20.33/hr
  • State of Colorado: $12.75-$20.33/hr
  • State of Montana: $12.75-$16.46/hr
  • State of Rhode Island: $13.00-$16.46/hr
  • State of Washington: $15.74-$20.33/hr
