Position Overview:

General Summary:
Accountable for evaluating, planning, executing, and reviewing patient care for a designated group of individuals. Collaborates with physicians, healthcare professionals, and support staff to guarantee high-quality care delivery. Provides treatment for neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and elderly patients, as outlined in the unit's scope of care.

Employs understanding of growth and development principles pertinent to patient age, ensuring that care provided addresses the unique physical and psychosocial needs of each patient.

Engages relevant parties (e.g., family members or guardians, and external agencies) in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of patients, as necessary. Operates independently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (minimum of four hundred hours annually in NICU). Functions as a clinical mentor for new therapists. Participates in hospital committees as assigned by department leadership, as required. Delivers educational presentations on contemporary practices and concepts to the department at least twice annually, as needed. Upholds the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

Compensation includes a $15k recruitment bonus for experienced RRTs in a full-time role.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Registry with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist

Current licensure from the state of Maryland as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred

Current CPR certification with recertification every two years.

Demonstrates strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, fostering a collaborative approach to patient care

Visual acuity at all ranges, corrected or uncorrected

Normal hearing range, corrected or uncorrected

Working Conditions:
Must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds. Must be able to push, pull, and lift patients. Must be able to maneuver patient care equipment. Must be able to bend at the waist and kneel.

This position requires contact with human body fluids and adherence to standard precautions.

Reporting Structure:
Supervision is provided by the manager of the Respiratory Care Department and the Medical Director.

May be assigned charge therapist responsibilities in the absence of the manager.
