Job Description

Overview

HCA Florida West Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in need.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers as needed.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.

Requirements

  • Certificate or Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 90 days of employment start date.
