Job Summary:

This position provides health services to students and school staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering health screenings and medications, providing first aid care to students and staff, and providing instruction on health-related topics. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality. A valid Commonwealth of Virginia registered nursing license is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer health screenings and medications to students and staff
  • Provide first aid care to students and staff
  • Provide instruction on health-related topics
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the School Principal and Director of Student Services, and Special Education and Related Services

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a B.S. in Nursing
  • Valid Commonwealth of Virginia registered nursing license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; ability to assist with lifting select students as needed
  • Two years of previous experience with child and adolescent health care preferred

Benefits:

Range for is $53,000 to $79,287 with an additional supplement of $4,230 for the advanced degree of Masters's or $8,460 for Doctorate.


Work Environment:

Full time / 10 month (200 Days) position, 7 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
