The role of a Travel Nurse RN at Chandler Regional Medical Center involves providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment. This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in telemetry nursing.
Certification Requirements- Certifications: BLS, ACLS are mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in EKG monitoring is essential.
- Interpretation: Centralized telemetry RNs must be adept at interpreting EKGs.
- Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
- Completion of the Dysrhythmia Exam is necessary within 24-48 hours prior to position acceptance, with a maximum of two attempts allowed.
- Passing a simulation lab assessment on the first day of orientation is required.
- A minimum of two years of nursing experience is essential for consideration.
- Self-scheduling is available with 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM.
- Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.
- Two major holidays and two minor holidays are to be worked based on contract terms.
- No on-call shifts; however, float shifts may be necessary based on patient census.
- Unit B3A specializes in Cardiopulmonary Telemetry & Neuro.
- Unit B3B focuses on CHF Telemetry.
- Each unit accommodates 30 beds.
- Patient-to-nurse ratios are maintained at 1:3-4.
- A Charge Nurse/House Supervisor is present on duty without patient assignments.
- Patient Care Technicians are assigned at a ratio of 1 per every 15 patients.
- Equipment used includes Nasal Cannula and Bipap/Cpap for obstructive sleep apnea.
- Floating to any telemetry floor may be required.
- Dress code consists of navy scrubs.
- Orientation specific to the unit/department lasts for two days on the floor.
- Common patient diagnoses include CHF, general telemetry issues, fluid overload, shortness of breath, arrhythmias, and alcohol-related conditions.
- Every other weekend is required; floating may occur based on staffing needs.
- Holidays are rotated among core staff members.
