Electrical Design Engineer Role

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Brookfield Global Recruitment Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing electrical designs that align with our company's cost and schedule objectives, while meeting the specific requirements of our customers. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of our projects and contribute to our ongoing commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer requirements, including specifications, Statements of Work, and interface drawings, to ensure contract compliance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Attend job kick-off meetings and participate in design reviews with customers to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
  • Support the preparation and updating of task lists and schedules to ensure timely project delivery and efficient resource allocation.
  • Design AC & DC electrical systems based on customer specifications, utilizing industry-leading software and tools to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Develop system layouts, subassembly configurations, and packaging criteria to optimize electrical system performance and efficiency.
  • Prepare wiring diagrams, schematics, and wire lists to facilitate clear communication and accurate implementation of electrical designs.
  • Provide design input to mechanical engineers and CAD design teams to ensure holistic and integrated design solutions.
  • Review and approve drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Support production or prototype and electrical system build to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Interface with other departments to resolve technical questions and issues, promoting effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Create technical proposals, procurement specifications, and electrical analyses to support project development and customer engagement.
  • Assist the Sales department in proposal development and engineering estimates to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Review vendor/shop drawings, quotes, and proposals to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Create electrical long leads and Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSIL's) to facilitate project planning and resource allocation.
  • Submit Engineering Change Proposals (ECP's, RFW's, etc.) to ensure timely and effective implementation of design changes.
  • Interface with customers, program management, and contracts to resolve customer issues and ensure project success.
  • Contribute to product improvement, new products, and product standardization to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Conduct failure analysis with clear problem interpretation and robust solution proposals to ensure effective problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Provide risk assessment and mitigation for electrical design engineering tasks to ensure project safety and success.
  • Support company and customer test development and validation to ensure accurate and reliable electrical system performance.
  • Assist with Electromagnetic shielding and filtering to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Direct tasks to other design staff, including CAD and Electrical Engineers, to ensure effective project execution and resource allocation.

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • 6+ years professional engineering experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of circuit simulation programs.
  • Thorough understanding of the relationship between hardware and software for company products.
  • Ability to gain US DoD Clearance.
